A netizen took to Facebook to express his gratitude to Singapore Civil Defence Force officers for helping to deliver his son into the world in their home during an emergency delivery.
Prm Kitshan, Medic Shafiq Rhymia and Samo Iqbal had responded to a call for help from the couple at approximately 8.25AM last Thursday. When they arrived, the mother was already in labor and they immediately began preparations for emergency delivery.
The father of the boy, Mr Kean Ho, wrote of the officers: "Officer in charge Kitshan had delivered my baby boy in my own house this morning at approximately 8.25am. She was very experienced, composed and exceedingly professional in the delivery of my 2nd baby boy. I hereby pay kudos to her and pay utmost respect to her and her teammates for their assistance.
"My wife and baby are well taken care of and in good hands. SCDF indeed train their staffs well. Their performance were remarkable and my family felt that we were in good hands under the care of Officer Kitshan."
Mr Ho wrote that he was expressing his appreciation through Facebook because the SCDF does not allow any hampers or gifts as appreciation.
