SINGAPORE — Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has directed the Registration Officer to revise the registers of electors and complete the revision on or before March 31.
A notification was published in the Government Gazette today (Feb 6).
“The revision is a routine exercise to ensure that the registers are up to date. The law requires the registers to be revised not later than three years after the last general election,” said the Elections Department.
As the last general election was held on May 7, 2011, the registers must be revised by May 6.
The Elections Department will issue a press release on Feb 17 containing details on the public inspection of the revised registers of electors.
