The pet shop in NEX shopping mall that is embroiled in an online shamming of its staff who was shown on video abusing a dog, has apologised. The staff has also left his job. However, AVA is still carrying out investigations over the allegations of pet abuse.

A 10 second video clip was circulated online on Sunday, by a customer named Jamie Thompson, that showed a dog being thrown into a cage by a person whose face cannot be seen in the video. The customer, who identified hersel as a 16 year old student, said the dog did not belong to her, but furnished details of the incident that took place last Thursday.

The shop in question, Pick-A-Pet, said that the staff member has been reprimanded, counselled and resigned voluntarily. The dog was also given a full medical check, and was confirmed to be healthy without any obvious behavioural signs of abuse.
