Dear A.S.S. Editor
I went to the Geylang Serai market recently to have my lunch. Thought that by eating at the hawker centre, and not the many swanky new restaurants across the street at the nearby 1KM, i could save some money on lunch.
Imagine to my surprise, I ordered a Nasi Padang with chicken, potato begedil and some veggie, and i was charged $7 for the meal! Nothing fancy, just one meat and two veggie, and I got charged $7! How is this possible? Prices go up so drastically? Not even eating at some air-conditioned place, just the Geylang Serai market! Like this might as well eat at fancy restaurants. How do these stall owners break down their pricing in the first place? They might just have plucked out some figure from the air, and if they don't like your face, then you will be charged more!
Wonder if this was what happened to me. This kind of meal should not have even come close to $5!
