Dear A.S.S. Editor
Mother's Day is supposed to be a day for celebration for mothers, but unfortunately, one would-be mother loss her life after an accident, and she would never have the chance to meet her daughter.
Ms Goh Chieh Ting, who was pregnant with her daughter for six months, was crossing the road with her mother-in-law on Saturday morning when she was hit by a lorry turning out from a carpark. She was pronounced dead at the hospital, but her premature daughter was saved by doctors who performed emergency caesarean on her. The baby is reportedly healthy.
The lorry driver, a 46 year old male, was arrested for causing death by negligence. Doctors should be praised for saving the life of the baby girl, but unfortunately for the daughter, she will never meet her mother.
