Li Shengwu, the son of Lee Hsien Yang who ran foul of Singapore's contempt of court laws told Reuters that he has no intentions of returning to Singapore to face his Contempt of Court charges filed by the country's AGC. Li has previously called Singapore's courts pliant and the government litigious.
He expected to start his role as an associate professor at Harvard University in 2018 and will not be returning to Singapore. He will however defend himself through legal representation in Singapore.
"I have no intention of going back to Singapore. I have a happy life and a fulfilling job in the U.S"
