HUSBAND SELLS LIFELONG STAR WARS COLLECTION TO MAKE SPACE FOR LATE WIFE'S BELONGINGS

A Singaporean father will be selling his lifelong collection of Star Wars collectibles in September this month at the upcoming Singapore Toy, Game & Comics Convention 2017 to make way for a memorial in his home comprised of his late wife's belongings.

Jeremy Sim, whose story was featured in popular parenting magazine The Asian Parent in July, met his wife Camella Fong as colleagues. They got married in 2010 and the couple had their son in 2015.

Fong was subsequently diagnosed with neuroendocrine metastasis cancer in July 2016 before she passed away shortly after.

Sim's story has stirred many emotions among Singaporeans, who have shared and followed his posts fervently to show support for the grieving father and husband. According to Sim, he still messages his wife on her phone these days in hopes she would reply, but admits that the likelihood of that happening is very low.

The proceeds from the sale of his collection will be donated to the KKH Health Fund box. He wrote that he is unable to accept money personally, other than what is dropped into the collection box during the Toy Expo.

Concerned netizens who want to support Sim are encouraged to show up at Marina Bay Sands on 9 September. Details are in his post here.
