When Worker's Party had an internal leadership selection, malicious and despicable tabloid writes tried to overplay the incident, attempting to pass off a healthy voting process as some kind of internal schism. To further solidy their inane assertions, they cited quotes of "unnamed WP members", that may or may not actually be real or living people.
Needless to say, one should never take the words of an #ownselfawardownself news agency too seriously. If a quote from an unnamed person can be treated as credible statement, then I guess I can quote my grandfather for being Superman, retired.
But the same questions can be applied elsewhere. For instance. How do we know for sure that the reason why Thaman Shanmugaratnam rejected the position of Prime Minister isn't the result of an "internal tussle"?
How do we know this isn't what happened?
