We are cancelling the event on 2rd Sep given the circumstances surrounding the need to apply for a police permit as some of our speeches inevitably will touch on race matters.
The whole Reserved Presidential Election centres on race issue as its reserved for the Malay community. Race will be brought up during our speeches.
We are also uncertain if we will get the police permit if we apply for one so late now and our past experience has shown that the police authorities won't issue one if the event concerns race and religion matter out of security reason.
We thus have decided regretfully to cancel the event on 2rd Sep.
NB: This is sent out as a email earlier today.
We regret that the event this coming Saturday will be cancelled but instead we will organise one indoor at a date to be announced later whereby there will be lesser restrictions. We respect the authorities to safeguard security in our country and will co-operate with them fully to ensure racial and religious harmony.
We apologise to all our supporters for any inconvenience caused.
