Some people may not consider Halimah Yacob as our 2nd Malay President but it is indisputable that she will be the first President who lives in a HDB flat.
Madam President has confirmed that she will continue to live in her Yishun flat and said she will leave it to security personnel to make the necessary arrangements. She is comfortable staying there and thinks it helps her to keep fit as she will always try to take the stairs home.
When asked about her thoughts on the unhappiness some may have towards the Presidency, she avoided the question by simply saying she will serve the people with passion and sincerity. She thinks Singaporeans should focus on similarities instead of differences and do good together.
If we're not at the peak now, what makes you think we'll reach the peak with her? And how come nobody bothered to ask how her neighbours feel about security staff loitering outside their houses?
