GRAB DRIVER ONLY MAKES $27 A DAY FOR 12 HOUR SHIFT

Dear A.S.S. Editor

I just recently started driving for Grab. I thought this is a good way to make some extra income, or at least to earn more than what I currently earn. Heard a lot of stories about people making more money as they started driving for Grab and Uber.

But my experience for the one month I have been driving is directly opposite! The revenue for a 12 - 14 hours a day shift is about $200 on average. I rent a Honda Vezel Hybrid rental, and it costs me $85. The petrol per day is about $35. Then there is a daily deposit deduction of $10, plus Grab takes 20% commission from the $200 earned.

Thus my calculations, $200 (Revenue) - $40 (Grab Commission) - $10 (Deposit) - $85 (rental) - $35 (Petrol) - $3 (Season Parking) = $27 profit per day. $27 profit per day of driving between 12 - 14 hours! Totally not worth it. Kind of makes me wonder why any one of us is driving Uber or Grab.

And for those who say they can do both at the same time, how did you all managed to hit the incentives? Or is it just cheap talk?
