Dear All Singapore Stuff,
I would like to respond to your article yesterday (http://www.allsingaporestuff.com/article/rjc-ns-recruit-promise-hire-ser...)
Let me tell you all more about this fellow Choo Zheng Chen:
- He is a PES C NSF
- From what I heard, his vocation is clerk
- Also from what I heard, one sergeant carried him up the stairs when the lift broke down
- He is very good academically, he got a GPA of 3.85 and started a blog to diss other people from Raffles
- He is famous in Raffles and his username, TBE385, which stands for The Best Ever, 385
- He got straight As for A levels
- All the commanders in Tekong are really angry when we saw the post by him. Yes, they know who it is.
Even though he is PES C, he chao keng as much as possible. Look, he is PES C but is perfectly fit enough to play golf (please see attached photo). He used to be in fencing CCA in RI(JC). (Link here: http://fencingsingapore.org.sg/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/NOV14-TEAM-RES...). As you can see, he is very energetic and active for a NSF who cannot climb stairs.
I was one of the recruit that was from the same intake with this particular recruit. He was the haughtiest guy I have ever met. Being from a good JC, I thought I was elitist enough until I've met him. And to those who feels that he got a grave injustice done in army, he didnt.
He is in PES C and I guess we can all agree that our sergeants have been very nice to us and have been light on the punishment (20 push ups a day). Furthermore, he has often boasted about his malingering when others are doing the minimal physical activities PES C bmt has to offer.
And for those who believe that he is kidding or just being insensitive, he is not. He is dead serious about it. He has made some comments like "I will enjoy my next 60 years being rich and successful while they will be suffer and be poor for the rest of their lives" when talking about results. So it is up to you to judge what kind of person Mr Choo Zheng Chen is.
Btw, Choo, I'm really sorry to hear about that you have to reject your scholarship from A* and "they only choose 3 outstanding Singaporeans a year". through a gigantic, self-aggrandizing facebook post.
Choo's glorified achievement from last year can be found here: http://www.asianscientist.com/2015/07/topnews/asian-scientist-writing-pr...
Let me end off with Choo's own words from his blog:
"There’s another thing I don’t get, but yet it’s constantly prevalent this year. People actually mock and laugh at you for doing well, some even labelling you as “cocky” and “arrogant”. My reply to them is: At least I have something to show for. When someone works extremely hard to attain his goals, I don’t see what’s wrong with parading your achievements. What do you expect him to do? Hide his achievements as if nothing happened? To all those haters out there: Ha ha, just because you have nothing to show for doesn’t mean I don’t, quit whining and start working. If you got a problem, do something about it."

Well done Singapore government for offering this guy a scholarship!
