Singaporeans are champion grumblers who do not realise how good a government they have.
They tell you about diabetes, but you can't appreciate why they talk about diabetes. So you queried and some mocked.
For $5, you are screened for 5 diseases. Do the maths. When you go to any Chas clinic, you pay $5 but the government has to pay the clinics to give you the tests and it's not $5.
$5 is what it costs you. But it costs the government very much more. And they are doing this for 1.8 million Singaporeans. So multiply by 1.8 million for the total cost in budget to help you stay healthy.
Keeping you healthy. Isn't it good for you?
