A netizen shared his unusual experience while taking Bus 100 along Joo Seng Road this morning at 7.13AM when a disabled commuter with a wheelchair suddenly got up and blocked the entrance of the bus, forcing commuters to wait at least another 15 minutes for the second bus to arrive.
According to the netizen, there was no explanation or even confrontation between the bus driver and the disabled man. The man simply stayed put and refused to move out of the way. The bus driver tried speaking to the man, who refused to move or even reply, and was eventually forced to turn off the bus's engine and step out of the bus.
The driver reportedly called back to his company to request for further instructions on what to do.
When passersby tried to reason with the disabled man, they too received no response. The man appears to be mute, either because of a speech impairment or because he simply refused to speak.
