I was shopping at Vivocity this afternoon when I saw this ridiculous thing... A PRC lady walking around in the air conditioned first floor atrium of Vivocity holding a cigarette and puffing away like nobody's business!
Obviously everyone was shocked. Many people stared at the PRC but she just ignored them. Finally, a local cleaner uncle even came up to her to tell her to stop smoking as it is against the law to smoke indoors.
What made me really angry was the PRC lady, who was acting all high class and arrogant, laughed in the face of the poor cleaner uncle. He kept telling her to stop smoking and go outside to throw her cigarette, but she just stood there and refused to move or even extinguish her smoking cigarette.
After this another local lady joined the uncle and told the lady off by asking her to stop smoking or go outside. But then this PRC just walks away from the two of them and continued to smoke away.
What kind of attitude is this? Any foreigners in Singapore, regardless of PRCs or whoever, should follow the rules of our country when they come here. Where is the NEA enforcement people when we need them? This experience has left a very bad impression of PRCs on me.
