CNG GAS CANISTER EXPLODES, LEAVES WAKE OF DESTRUCTION @ ANG MO KIO INDUSTRIAL ESTATE

A CNG canister exploded this morning at a workshop in Ang Mo Kio this morning, leaving a trail of destruction and one injured worker in its wake.

The incident took place in the morning at the Ang Mo Kio Industrial Estate. The exact cause is still under investigation, but witnesses say that the exploded canister is believed to be a CNG canister used for vehicles.

According to eye witnesses, the exploded canister blew up and burst to the roof the workshop, sending shrapnel and debris flying across five other shops in the vicinity. The remnants of the canister crushed a car parked outside a car workshop and injured a car mechanic working in the area.

The injured worker suffered a fracture in his left leg.

Police are investigating.
