Former NMP Calvin Cheng has hit back at critics and continues his attack on NUS assistant professor Ian Chong.
In his own words, he said "The trash sites allsingapore stuff and independentsg have printed articles attacking me for criticising an NUS academic Dr. Chong Ja Ian, who posts on Facebook under 'Ian Chong'. I have been watching this individual for some time now, and he stalks political pages making snide remarks at Ministers, MPs and pro-Government people."
He expressed his belief that the professor is an online troll and is purposely antagonistic to the PAP government, often making snide remarks about PAP ministers and MPs.
Calvin Cheng accused the outspoken professor of 'extremely worrying behaviour' and questioned 'the suitability of such an individual teaching our undergraduates politics, of all subjects.'
Calvin Cheng is known to be a fanatical PAP supporter and detests anyone who criticises the PAP government. He has frequently called for a more authoritarian approach to governance, with greater censorship and harsher punishments for those found guilty of non-conformity.
Should NUS take Calvin Cheng's advice and lower the quality of education by only hiring professors who worship PM Lee and sing praises of the PAP government?
