ARRESTED BANGLADESHI MEN BRUTALLY BEAT S'POREAN MAN TO DEATH IN GEYLANG

A 42 year-old man, Lim Leong Tat, was brutally beaten to death by 2 Bangladeshi men in a back alley in Geylang Lorong 24A on Sunday morning. 2 of the men responsible for Mr Lim's death were arrested on Monday.

One of the assailants, a 34 year-old man named Rana Sohel, was charged in court today for his role in the brutal murder. Court documents state that Rana had punched Mr Lim on his face and slammed his head onto the pavement with 3 other accomplices between 7AM and 7.43AM on Sunday.

The police were alerted to the case at 7.43AM on Sunday. They found Mr Lim lying on the ground motionless, with severe head and upper body injuries. He was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics at 8.05AM.

If convicted, Rana faces a jail term of up to 10 years and/or caning.
