A research study reported in the Daily Mail showed that regular sex can protect men against prostate cancer. It also showed that the most sexually-active males had less chance of contracting the potentially-fatal disease.
Yesterday, news of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's prostate cancer broke and one cannot help but wonder if it finally shed some light on the Prime Minister's sex life. Based on the medical research, men who do not have regular sex are more prone to developing prostate cancer. Does it mean that Lee Hsien Loong is too busy with running the country that he has no time to have sex and maintain a healthy prostate? But if you remember who his wife is, you probably can guess why there is a lack of hey-sho hey-sho?
Wait... but there is a second part to this research. It was revealed that someone with frequent sex was also linked to less aggressive prostate cancer, which is more likely to respond to treatment and has a lower likelihood of spreading.
Based on PMO's statement yesterday, only 1 of 38 LHL's biopsy samples was cancerous and he is expected to make a full recovery and will only require ONE WEEK of medical leave after surgery? How many people can go back to work just one week after cancer surgery?
So it appears that Lee Hsien Loong's prostrate cancer is a "less aggressive prostate cancer" that is expected to respond very well to treatment. Contrary to the first assumption that Lee Hsien Loong doesn't have enough sex, it is now very possible that his very active sex life helped stave off a potentially fatal form of prostate cancer and boosted his chances of surviving this cancer.
This episode has given us unprecedented insights into Lee's sex life. Which do you think is more plausible? Ah Loong the pious monk who says no to sex or is he the insatiable demon in bed?
What do you think?
