The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement that indicated that as of midnight yesterday, no Malaysian government vessels are anchored in the area previously covered by overlapping port limits. MFA also responded to media queries that they will not hesitate to take appropriate actions in their exercise of Singapore's sovereignty.

This came just after both Singapore and Malaysia mutually suspended the implementation of their overlapping port limits. All these friendly gestures also came ahead of the Leader retreat between the two respective PMs, PM Lee and PM Mahathir.

The meeting between the two leader finally takes place after being postponed since November last year.
