From Drugs To Sexual Harassment, Singapore Teenagers Are In Deep Shit!

A few days ago, a 14-year-old was taken into custody for suspected drug trafficking. According to media reports, the boy was the youngest to be detained in an islandwide crackdown by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB). He apparently had about 9g of cannabis as well as drug paraphernalia seized from his home in Lower Delta Road.

That’s not it. Recently, four teenagers aged 13 and 14 were caught for vandalising swear words and crude signs all over a multi-storey carpark. Investigations are ongoing.

Another teenager was in the news for performing sexual acts on a 14-year-old girl who was drunk at that time. When people told him to apologise to the girl, he did it on Instagram live which then went viral and received many police reports.

These are just a few of the many crimes involving our young. What is going on? Should they be let off leniently because of their age?

There is a stark shift in how the younger generation think and behave nowadays. Do you agree that some young people are becoming more self-entitled and arrogant? How do we stop this from getting widespread? What are your thoughts?
