Earlier today (Aug 24), Vivian Balakrishnan shared that residents in need from Holland-Bukit Timah GRC will receive $200 supermarket vouchers to help them cope with inflation. Another member of the Holland-Bukit Timah GRC Sim Ann added that the supermarket shopping vouchers will be distributed to residents within a month.
Money used will come from the “Groceries Assist” program that aims to raise $128k to provide assistance to about 640 needy families. Blossom World Society, a volunteer welfare organization based in the area, is the first to donate $64,000 to the program.
Times have really changed. Holland-Bukit Timah used to be known as the rich men area where the wealthy live. Even they need an aid program to help their needy families now! The government better wake up their idea!
