PRC Complained That Singapore Is Dirty, Claimed We Lack Hygiene!

Chinatown is the most common attraction for tourists. It is also a place where locals frequent. Today, the colourful streets of Chinatown are covered in spits, plastic wrappers and other rubbish.

A video released on popular FB page “Singapore Incidents” showed the sad state of Chinatown. A Chinese commentary that is seemingly by a PRC talked about how dirty the place is. He claimed that it is the dirtiest place in Singapore, and that it is too crowded and unhygienic.

Commenters were quick to share their opinion about the state of hygiene of Chinatown. While some accused tourists for polluting the place, some scolded the narrator for complaining about us when his own country is worse.

But in order to solve the problem, the government needs to do something. They are clearly not doing their jobs! Are enforcement officers sleeping? How bad must it be for Chinatown to become like this?

NEA needs to take action and start to get more officers stationed there. Whatever happened to Singapore being a fine country? Why are they not punishing the litterbugs? If they do their duty, the fines collected can be used to hire more cleaners too.

Chinatown is one of the best attractions we have. If the authorities don’t want to care at all, we’ll soon be known for the wrong reasons and appear ugly to the whole world.
