Yesterday, one netizen made a post on Facebook to share that this clinic refused to see her daughter who had developed an ulcer below her tongue. The daughter was at her playgroup when she was sent back home after they discovered the ulcer.
“Her principal told me to bring her to a PD to get a report saying its not HFMD if I want to send her back to school, obviously as a mother, im worried, I bring her down to this clinic @124 Hougang Ave 1.”
When she was at the clinic, the netter asked the receptionists if they can see her toddler to check for HFMD. The receptionists said “yes” and proceeded to let the netizen register as this was their first visit. However, the receptionist instead conveyed to the doctor “we see HFMD patients right”. The doctor said no.
“IMMEDIATELY, SHE SNATCHED THAT PIECE OF PAPER AWAY FROM ME, SAYING THEY DONT SEE FOR HFMD, IN A VERY RUDE TONE. I COULD CLEARLY SEE THE FEAR SHE HAVE ON HER FACE WHEN SHE SNATCHED THE PIECE OF PAPER AWAY FROM ME.”
How can this doctor be so rude? Some more, the netter mentioned that her daughter did not have other symptoms (i.e. rashes on her hands/other ulcers) – she only had one ulcer on her tongue.
“She didnt even check with the doctor before asking me to fill up the piece of paper and she dare to even snatch that piece of paper from me and talk to me rudely saying they dont see for hfmd, now I clearly get why this clinic is always empty, go to this clinic thats scared of seeing patients at your own risk.”
Even if the daughter really had HFMD, how can a clinic just reject a patient without referring her elsewhere? Clinic can choose which kind of patients to see? Is this our “swiss standard of living”?!
