Student Found Standing On MRT Tracks At Yio Chu Kang Station

Earlier today at about 1:55PM, train services between Ang Mo Kio and Yishun were halted because a student was found on the train tracks. Commuters at Yio Chu Kang MRT Station activated the emergency stop plunger upon seeing the girl.

According to a Facebook post by SMRT, the police escorted her out of the track at about 2:10pm, and train services resumed at 2:30PM. The police are currently investigating the case.

Thanks to the quick actions of Singaporeans at the station who pressed the emergency button, the girl is safe. Hopefully she’ll get the help she needs.
