In a Facebook post made on 21 June, Singapore Democratic Party secretary-general Chee Soon Juan shared that he will be opening a new café called “Orange & Teal” with his wife. It will be located near Buona Vista MRT.
“It’s been a long-term dream of ours to have a place where Singaporeans come together to not just have a great meal or have that heart warming cuppa, but a place where we get together with our loved ones and friends and get to know each other all over again. A place where intelligent discussion, even impassioned debate, takes place. A place where the conversation’s even better.”

He shared that the café is currently not yet halal-certified, but it will not be serving pork, lard or pork-related items. He also adds that the business is “a social enterprise of sorts to support causes close to my heart.”
Most importantly, Chee hopes Singaporeans will extend their support and share it with everybody they know.
Business will begin this Friday, 25 June 2021. The opening hours are 11am to 10pm.
