Malaysia Hopes to Buy Half A Million Vaccine Doses from Us As We Are Close Neighbours

Johor hopes to purchase another 500,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine from Singapore or China. Our neighbouring country has seen more than 7000 cases each day due to more infectious variants. Yesterday, it reported up to 126 deaths.

In light of the escalating crisis, it promised to be proactive and wants to bank on good relations with us in order to secure more vaccines.

“If Singapore, being our closest neighbour, has additional Covid-19 vaccine quotas, then Johor is willing to purchase them”, said Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad.

But is there even enough to go around? The last we heard, we had to resort to delaying the second dose for our own citizens so that more people can get their first jab.

What do you think? Can we help ourselves and also help our neighbour?
