We’re Quick to Tighten Borders with Australia But Why Can’t We Do the Same with South Asia?

Yesterday, the government announced that it will tighten border restrictions for travelers from Australia’s Victoria state. This comes after a spike in its cases which caused it to enter a lockdown.

Australian officials have traced it to a traveler with a highly infectious variant first found in India.

Our ruling party acted so quickly this time round but much is left to be said about the way they dealt with travelers from South Asia. Many netizens also highlighted the contrast by voicing their concerns on social media:
