Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has not apologized for accusing us of having a “Singapore variant”. Yesterday, he warned of a “new form of Covid-19” that entered Singapore and is dangerous to children. His so called “new form of Covid-19” is none other than India’s B1617 variant. There is no such thing as a Singapore strain.
The media and authorities in Singapore already called out his fake news. India’s Foreign Minister also clarified that the Delhi politician does not speak for India, but the man himself has not responded.
This is a serious allegation by a politician who has influence among the people. Shouldn’t our Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong sue him for his allegations and for tarnishing our name?
Our PM has a history of suing our own people for defamation, i.e. Leong Sze Hian and Roy Ngerng. Shouldn’t he take action against Arvind Kejriwal for spreading fake claims this time?
Singaporeans are already having a hard time dealing with a 2nd wave thanks to the B1617 variant. We must not let him get away so easily! Who knows what other nonsense he will spread about us in future? If our authorities fail to take action, it goes to show their double standards and how unfair they can be.
What are they waiting for?
