The Workers' Party Members of Parliament (WP MPs) have restarted their physical Meet-the-People Sessions (MPS) last week. Physical MPS were previously suspended due to the Covid19 pandemic, but NEA has allowed MPS to commence once safety measures to reduce the risk of Covid19 transmission have been fulfilled.
Some of these safety requirements include limiting MPS with up to 50 residents and volunteers, keeping groups to a maximum of 5 persons per table, and sanitising chairs and tables after each session. While physical MPS have resumed, residents in the WP wards can still reach out to their MPs through electronic means.
WP MPs Gerald Giam and Dennis Tan Lip Hong shared some moments from their first void deck MPS since GE2020. A photograph shared by Dennis Tan showed a group of Hougang residents who showed up before his MPS started to garland him and express their well wishes.
While the Sengkang MPs are still holding virtual MPS, Jamus Lim previously mentioned his Anchorvale team's intent to continue the WP tradition of using HDB void decks to hold future MPS instead of building an office.
