The former manager of Singapore’s Olympic Champion Joseph Schooling, Hafidz Ja’afar, has had a police report made against him. He has been reported for the failure to deliver valid tickets for the Singapore leg of the International Champions Cup match between Manchester United and Inter Milan.
According to the person who lodged the report, one A. Rahman, a 36 year old events manager, ha had payed Hafidz, his “close friend”, for 12 tickets for the match played on Saturday. He had received the tickets for the match only after much prompting to Hafidz, but when they scanned the tickets to enter, they realised that the tickets were not legitimate, and thus his group were denied entry. It was understood that there were four other complaints of invalid tickets at the match.
Police have confirmed that a report had been lodged against Hafidz and investigations are ongoing, while Swim Schooling – the school that Schooling set up in June last year and the one Hafidz had been managing since – also released a statement on its Facebook page, saying that it had terminated Hafidz’s employment.
It is understood that Hafidz is now uncontactable, and those who know him also said his own mother and wife do not know of his whereabouts.
