Progress Singapore Party Official Launch Confirmed On 3 Aug At Swissotel Merchant Hotel

The Progress Singapore Party (PSP), led by former PAP MP and Singapore’s new opposition favourite Dr Tan Cheng Bock, has confirmed that they will officially launch their party on 3 August at Swissotel Merchant Hotel. The official launch had actually been planned for 16 June at Singapore Expo, but police permit and other related permits were not approved on time.

PSP, which received its formal approval from the Registry of Societies on 28 March 2019, had been formed with 12 like-minded Singaporeans, including soem ex-PAP cadres. While some harboured suspicions that the party will face mounting challenges to have the launch run smoothly, thankfully it is finally going ahead.

During the launch, Singaporeans will be introduced to the Party and the people behind it, including former presidential candidate and founder of PSP, Dr Tan Cheng Bock. According to the Party’s write-up of the event, Dr Tan will be sharing his thoughts on how the Party can contribute towards a better Singapore for the future generations. Besides Dr Tan, other members of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) will also be speaking at the official launch.

All Singaporeans are welcome to attend, and the admission is free. However, those interested are encouraged to register at Eventbrite to secure an entry ticket since the capacity of the Ballroom is limited. There will be two sessions, one in the morning, and another in the afternoon.
