Huawei Assured Consumers Of Continued Updates & Services, But How Will S’poreans React?

Huawei posted a message to its users after the US issued a ban on it. It announced on Facebook that it will “continue to provide security updates and after sales services to all existing Huawei and Honor smartphone and tablet products” internationally.

People who have already bought Huawei phones will be able to use their phones normally as they will not be affected.

The message did not specifically address the ban but rather, reminded people of Huawei’s “substantial contributions” to the tech industry and users all over the world.

It vowed “to build a safe and sustainable software ecosystem, in order to provide the best experience for all users globally”.

The post was met with disappointed reactions from fans who view it as “the best” and will continue to support the brand.

How will Singaporeans react to this? Will they be indifferent or flock to handphone shops to sell it?
