Excited Netters Share Photos, Videos Of Waterspout Sighting In Singapore

Some people were treated to a rare sighting of a waterspout in our little red dot.

What is a waterspout? A waterspout is a funnel-shaped cloud that appears over a body of water. It is caused by the condensation of clouds and are usually weaker than the tornadoes we see on TV.

Netters posted videos of the waterspout in areas overlooking Gardens By the Bay and downtown Singapore. It is not the first waterspout sighting as there were previous occurrences at East Coast Park when the weather was equally cloudy and rainy.

Expect thundery showers to last throughout the next week, and if you are driving, do not be too distracted!
