A SMRT station manager was suspended after failing to handle a door fault properly. In a viral video today, the train doors were seen fully opened as the MRT journeyed its way from Ang Mo Kio station. Passengers were startled but not hurt from the incident.
SMRT said that the station manager had made an error which allowed the train to move off while the doors were open. Normally, it will not be able to move at all.
The train only stopped after 200m. All commuters also managed to alight safely after the train returned to Ang Mo Kio station.
The lesson here? Stop telling Singaporeans to be grateful for our supposed first world public transport. It will only make us look like a joke when everyone realises that the truth is nothing but.
