Remember the burst water pipe at Bukit Batok East carpark? The PUB has conducted checks and said the leaks were due to corroded pipes.
The pipe burst was the second incident in the area in recent weeks. Both incidents were said to be unrelated. Nevertheless, the leaks reportedly “resulted in an estimated 7,580 cubic metres of water loss – roughly equivalent to three Olympic-sized swimming pools”.
In spite of this, PUB said it takes these incidents seriously and emphasised that water is precious.
It will be checking on all water pipes in Bukit Batok area and plans to complete them by next week.
