Police arrested 4 young men aged 17 to 18 years old for carrying out loanshark-related activities and harassing residents.
They often go to a HDB flat in Woodlands to splash a dark-coloured, foul-smelling substance at residents’ doors. The substance was said to be porridge but deliberately made by the loansharks to resemble faeces.
Residents there have been complaining of these acts. They tried to stop them from happening by pasting warning signs and covering their gates with plastic sheets. Their corridors are also lined with CCTV cameras.
The loansharks, however, continued their ‘stunts’.
None of the residents there reportedly borrowed money as they all have stable jobs. Now that the culprits are arrested, they can be rest assured they won’t need those plastic sheets and warning signs anymore!
Loansharks nowadays so “creative” one?
