S’POREAN INDIE FILMMAKER MAKES FILM ABOUT SUICIDE WITHOUT SPENDING SINGLE CENT

Despite being made on a shoestring budget of just "friendship" and freebies, the short film "HangeD" by local indie filmmaker Cho Jun Ming – 曹峻銘 has already gathered much positive attention online for its authentic portrayal of the desperate situation suicidal individuals find themselves in Singapore.

In the film, the lead character struggles with severe anxiety and depression, he struggles to get by in his day to day life. He soon finds himself trying to end his life by hanging, but what happens next is something no one expects. Based on true events in Singapore, the film's tagline is "Seek Help, Not Death".

The film was was uploaded just yesterday to coincide with world suicide prevention day. Within 24 hours, it has gained more than 150 shares across Facebook.
