PARKING FEES @ PARTS OF HOUGANG ARE HIGHER THAN USUAL, NETIZEN ASKS IF IT IS A PLOY TO FIX WP?

A netizen on a local forum has shared his observation of parking rates at certain Housing & Development Board & Urban Redevelopment Authority car parks in Hougang.

He claims that these car parks charge "peak hour" fees for parking at those car parks whereas other locations seem to have it cheaper. Wondering aloud whether this was reflective of a ploy to fix the opposition subtly, he lamented that "more and more carparks in Hougang are doing away with free parking, especially near wet markets and shopping centres."

The netizen asked other forum users: "Do these situation only happen in Hougang or are also implemented in other HDB estates around the island?"

Many netizens however disagreed with the netizen's accusations and slammed him for being paranoid.

One netizen wrote: "Please travel around more often."

Another wrote: "Are you grassroots? If not, no such thing as free parkings."
