SIA CHARGED ME US$50 FOR ADDING BAPTISM NAME, WHY NEVER DO THE SAME FOR FTs?

Dear Editor,

I would like to share my undue experience dealing with SIA, which outsources its call centre to third Countries and the ridiculous US$50 “surcharge” to insert a “Christian name” to the air ticket!

I’m scheduled to fly with SIA this November but am already feeling edgy before the flight begun. You see, I became a Christian shortly after booking this early ticket and hence, had my Baptism name inserted into my IC.

I was thus advised by a fellow Christian brethren to inform SIA of the changes as I will encounter problems clearing their ticket counter. True enough, SIA confirmed this scenario but still insists on imposing the US$50
charge when we dealing with Singapore currency?

I was like, if your Sarong Party boys & gals can go all out to please the Caucasian clients without making similar demands, why can’t the same be done for your own Countrymen? Why the double standards?

In this sense, I admire the unity of foreigners when it comes to snatching our jobs and screwing us up here!
