WP MPS KENA SUED AGAIN, THIS TIME BY PASIR RIS-PUNGGOL TOWN COUNCIL

Workers’ Party and Aljunied GRC Members of Parliament Low Thia Khiang, Sylvia Lim and Pritam Singh among others will now have to fend off a 2nd lawsuit after Pasir Ris-Punggol Town Council announced that it too would begin legal proceedings against the WP town councillors to recover allegedly mismanaged funds.

An earlier law suit by an independent panel was convened to conduct a check on Town Council accounts handled by the Workers’ Party while they held control of Aljunied-Hougang-Punggol East Town Council. The panel is seeking compensation for alleged wrongful payments of more than $33 million to FM Solutions and Services and other companies, which were approved by the WP’s town councillors.

The full list of defendants for this 2nd suit are the same. They include: Mr Low, Ms Lim, Mr Singh, Mr Chua Zhi Hon, Mr Kenneth Foo Seck Guan, Ms How Weng Fan, the administrators of the late Mr Danny Loh and FM Solutions and Services.

The Pasir Ris-Punggol Town Council statement states that it is just carrying out its duty to recover what is due to its residents.

“The facts and circumstances which are the subject of Pasir Ris-Punggol Town Council’s claim overlap with the facts and circumstances which are the subject of Aljunied-Hougang Town Council’s claim,” it said.

The WP has received the lawsuit and is consulting with their legal team.
