20 fighter jets flew past Marina South on Thursday in the shape of the number “50” in celebration of the golden jubilee in relations between Singapore and Indonesia.

Indonesian president Joko Widodo was at Marina Bay Cruise Center to witness the event, alongside Prime Minster Lee Hsien Loong. Representatives from the air forces of both countries were also present.

Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen also announced a new bilateral exercise between the Singapore Armed Forces and Indonesia’s Armed Forces (TNI) called the SAF-TNI Counter-Terrorim Table Top Exercise, it will take place from 27 – 30 November.

This matches what was previously reported when some netizens reported seeing a fighter plane flying past their office in the Marina area.
