2 Singaporean aunties got into a violent tussle after one auntie allegedly took away the other’s seat, which was close to a stage where a getai performance was being held at a temple along Arumugam Road.
The incident took place at 10.15PM on 3 September.
Reporters who arrived on the scene found the auntie who removed the seat with a bloodied face.
One of the witnesses recounted that the fight had started when one auntie had attempted to place the chair back in a stack of chairs for housekeeping as the show was ending soon. This descended into fighting when the spectator insisted that she wanted to continue watching.
“The auntie’s intention to help show organisers clear up the chairs is good, but her attitude towards others was not,” said the spectator. “Many of the audiences could have been offended.”
