FARID KHAN TAKES DOWN FACEBOOK ACCOUNT OVER ROHINGYA ISSUE

Presidential candidate has taken down his Facebook account after a report which alerted readers to a posting made on his account today.

The post contained a link to a petition which expressed support for the prosecution of Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi in the European Court of Human Rights over the Rohingya refugee crisis.

He has since posted a clarification on his Facebook page by attributing the posting to a mistake made by his media team, which had "accidentaly 'shared' several postings which appeared on the wall".
