S’POREAN USES BAD MATH TO DEBUNK MALAY & INDIAN DIABETES RISK, GETS ROAST BY FELLOW MALAY

In a good show of why Maths is too confusing for many Singaporeans, a Singaporean netizen has become the subject of a flame war after he tried to debunk Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's recent accusations that the Malay and Indian community are at higher risk of diabetes.

On his Facebook page, Mr Abdillah Zamzuri wrote:

This led another Malay netizen to roast him for his bad math, which failed to take into account the proportion of Chinese people in Singapore compared to the other communities.

Another netizen tries to explain the concept of proportion in Maths:

He explained that there are more Chinese people in Singapore almost (75%) as compared to the other communities. That means it should not be surprising that there are higher numbers of Chinese people getting diabetes in Singapore because they are the majority.

Did you understand any of that?
