TODAY IS PRESIDENT TONY TAN’S LAST DAY BUT DO S’POREANS EVEN CARE?

Dear Editors,

Today is the last day in office for President Tony Tan Keng Yam until our next Malay President is sworn in. In the interim, Mr J Y Pillay, the Chairman of the Council of Presidential Advisers will be acting President but do Singaporeans even care for a lame duck president who did nothing significant during his term?

For him to say that Joseph Schooling winning the Olympic medal was one of the highlights of his Presidency, it shows how obtuse and out of touch this President is.

How was he the President for the people when Joseph’s winning medal had nothing to do with him apart from him being a millionaire cheer leader? Ton Tan finally leaving? I do not think anyone will notice or care.

Bye bye KFC president, the only ones who will miss you will be KFC who have lost their primary advertising figurehead.
