MCDONALD’S RELAUNCHES NASI LEMAK BURGER ON MALAYSIA NATIONAL DAY

Dear A.S.S. Editor

McDonald’s have topped themselves this time around. They have announced that they are re-launching everyone’s favourite burger, the Nasi Lemak Burger, and will start selling the meal again at all its outlets starting today, August 31.

And as we all know, August 31 is also a significant date for our neighbours Malaysia. It is their National Day! Are they trying to tell Malaysia that the Nasi Lemak Burger belongs to Singapore and everyone else in this region and not only to Malaysia? Timing is just nice!

When the Nasi Lemak Burger meal was first launched last month, it became such a phenomenon, that it sold out island-wide within 2 weeks. It also prompted some prominent Malaysians to fire salvo that Nasi Lemak belongs to them, and also started a nasi lemak trend, where everything and everyone wants to sell and eat anything nasi lemak.

So, if your idea of a fulfilling meal is also to turn your noses up at that other national obsession now, fighting diabetes, then make your way to the nearest McDonald’s get your nasi lemak burger, Chendol McFlurry, Bandung McFizz or Coconut Pie now.
