The recent burning Trans-Cab caused a massive jam and triggered an evacuation in the KPE. Those caught up in the drama say the different announcements made on various platforms were confusing and could have been given faster. This shows that alerts given on all platforms are not synchronized and had caused confusion.
From this incident, it portrays, whether rightly or wrongly, that LTA does not have a proper set of evacuation plans and this can be a major problem, if it was true. With Singapore being a prominent target by terrorists as our government never fail to remind us, the transport infrastructure can be vulnerable targets.
I feel that LTA should review their plans and conduct exercises to prevent similar incidents from happening.
