KHAW BOON WAN SAYS MRT RELIABILITY WILL IMPROVE, EWL DELAY NEXT MORNING

In a Facebook post praising a recently appointed SMRT Chairman Mr Seah Moon Ming, Khaw Boon Wan detailed a list of Mr Seah’s achievements in the past and declared that Singapore’s MRT reliability will improve faster under his watch.

“I have no doubt his chairing #SMRT will speed up our efforts to raise rail reliability, to meet the new target of 1 million train-km before any delay exceeding 5 minutes,” Mr Khaw, who is Minister for Transport and Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure, wrote in his post.

Mr Seah took on the role of SMRT chairman on 17 July, taking over from Mr Koh Yong Guan after the latter completed his term of office, which he has held since July 2009.

Mr Khaw made his post at 6.37PM yesterday. Following his remarks, the East West Line experienced yet another series of delays during peak hour traffic this morning.
