A Transcab taxi caught fire in the KPE tunnel towards TPE after ECP just a few hours ago. In a reader contribution, smoke could be seen billowing from the car and filling the tunnel.
The fire, which reportedly involved the engine compartment of the taxi, was extinguished by the SCDF after they got down to the scene at around 7pm.
The incident left part of the tunnel closed. The Land Transport Authority also advised drivers to stay out of lane 4. Some drivers were even told to leave their motorbikes and exit the tunnel.
Thankfully, nobody was injured from the accident.
